Around Makalu

We can take a trek to the Makalu base camp 22-31 days via two main routes the more interesting route is the route via Tumlingtar. We fly east from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar. We traverse the bush green valley of the Arun River and trek through rhododendron and coniferous forests. We cross the Khanma pass at 16,000 ft. dropping down to the Barun river valley. We go through the yak pastures of Sherpa tribes and through small hamlets of Tibetean ethnic groups, a final climb uphill brings us to the silent and dislocate base camp of Makalu. The fifth highest mountain in the world.
